One of the toughest things about keeping a blog is figuring out what to write about. Ideas often flow freely at first, but get a few months in and you may find it a struggle to come up with new topics.
Over the years, I've written several blogs for my health-based business clients. Here are just a few ideas that will hopefully spark a new post for your blog.
Informational Blogs About Specific Diseases, Illnesses, or Injuries
People are constantly scouring the internet to learn more about a specific health condition. If you are an expert on a specific disease, illness, or injury, share your knowledge on your blog. Give readers the information needed to make a more informed decision should they have that condition.
Another advantage of this type of post is that it establishes you as an expert in that area. This can make you more appealing to clients with that specific issue. It also elevates the "like, know, trust" factor -- the three keys to marketing success!
Natural Treatment Options
The continued rise of CBD sales suggests that more and more people are searching for natural treatment options. If you can offer any advice in this area, it may get your blog noticed. For instance, if you know a few stretches that can help ease sciatica pain, thereby reducing their reliance on opiates, share them on your blog.
Some of the top health issues in the U.S. today include being overweight, tobacco use, substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, and mental health. Address one or more of these topics in your health blog and offer natural alternatives. You may not be able to resolve their issue, but you can definitely provide some relief.
Motivating & Inspiring Success Stories
Being diagnosed with a medical condition can sometimes make the most optimistic person potentially lose hope, even if for a short period of time. Patients may fear how the issue could potentially change their life. In some cases, they might fear that it will end completely.
Hope can be an amazing healer. Even if it can't take the physical condition away, it can help soothe the soul. Provide motivational and inspiring stories in your blog. If possible, ask one of your patients to share his or her story with your site's readers. Another option is to write a blog with links to other people's success stories published online, providing your patients with some encouragement when they need it most.
How-To Health Articles
Have you founded a particular treatment method or process that is helpful to your patients? Provide these steps in your health blog. Let all of your readers know how they can have a higher quality of life.
Worried that you may give away so much information that your patients won't need you? While this concern is understandable, there will always be a need for your service. Plus, your how-to health articles should address relatively simple issues. You don't want to post an article about how to do brain surgery. That's just crazy.
These are just a few ideas to get you started. I hope that they've sparked a few new blogs for your health-based business!
And if you ever want someone to run ideas by, feel free to reach out. I'd be glad to have a chat (at no cost) to brainstorm some ideas together!
